Three Local Businesses Continue to Help Hope Grow

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (May 20, 2020) – Mad Anthonys Children’s Hope House (MACHH), a caring place for the families of critically ill children, announced today that three businesses have each sponsored guest rooms through 2020. BKD Fort Wayne, Harmony Healthcare IT, and Steel Dynamics Inc. (SDI) Butler Division are helping to underwrite the associated costs of providing overnight accommodations to families displaced by pediatric or neonatal medical emergencies. Relationships like these allow MACHH to remain true to their mission of providing support to families regardless of their ability to pay.

BKD Fort Wayne will be sponsoring a room in collaboration with previous guests of the House. Kennedy and Columbia Dempsey are twins whose family stayed at the Mad Anthonys Children’s Hope House when the girls were born and had to stay in the NICU. The twins hold a fundraiser every year for the house, and for their 10th birthday this year, they raised enough to go toward a room sponsorship!

SDI Butler and Harmony Healthcare IT have both renewed their support for Room Sponsorship. This will be SDI Butler’s second year for Room Sponsorship at the House. Harmony Healthcare IT has been a Sponsor since 2017.

“Through the sponsorship of rooms at our Houses, these incredible organizations and individuals are making it possible for families to stay close to their loved ones while they are in the hospital,” said Melissa Dessaigne, Executive Director

“We are so proud and honored to have the name of our girls outside the room that we stayed in. The Hope House provided the care and hospitality that we needed while our daughter fought for her life in the NICU. The girls worked so hard this year to raise enough money to help sponsor a room and our deepest appreciation goes to everyone who contributed to their fundraisers.”

said Jennifer Dempsey, the twins’ mother.

Our sponsorship with MACHH was voted on by our own employees and it is special to get to share it with the Dempsey family – a family who has seen first-hand how great of an impact MACHH can have on Ft. Wayne. We look forward to our continued relationship.”
